About Us
Team Goose was formed in 2016 by a small group of Neuro Interventionists and Radiology
nurses and technologists at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. We work together to save hundreds of stroke patients that need emergency neuro-interventional procedures. Over the past 4 years, our team has expanded by including stroke, neuro-critical care and clinic team members. All of us have one common goal: FIGHT STROKES TOGETHER!
Stroke is a very devastating disease. We have seen magical moments when patients return to
their normal lives after treatment, and we have seen patients that have had bad outcomes. We
believe that stroke patients are under-treated mainly because of their late arrival to the hospital. If
more people are stroke aware, it would mean more patients would receive treatment, potentially
saving more lives. Our mission is to share stroke information to the communities, hospitals and
emergency medical services. We also want to inspire healthcare professionals to be advocates for
stroke patients.
Why “Team Goose?” We chose this name because we like the fact that geese fly together. Geese fly faster when flying in a ‘V’ formation and honk to encourage each other during flight. Also,
we admire how geese do not leave one another behind. In order to help stroke patients, we
believe we need a GREAT TEAM working together and supporting each other. In remembrance
of the great Helen Keller, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much.”
We hope you would like to join us in this journey to save more stroke patients! You, too, can be part of Team Goose by simply spreading the word and supporting our mission. Welcome!
Love,
Mother Goose
